This estate vineyard is planted with Syrah, Grenache and Viognier and sits at the entrance of The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA, famous for a cobblestone terroir similar to the one in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in France. The site features some of the largest stones in the appellation because it was in the center of the path of the Walla Walla River where the water moved swiftly and left these large deposits.
Ruby in color, the wine shows bright aromas of raspberry and red currant with a touch of baking spice. Flavors of cranberry, strawberry and cassis are complemented by subtle notes of rhubarb and toasted oak. Medium-bodied with balanced tannins and fresh acidity, it delivers a smooth, lingering finish. Enjoy with flavorful Mediterranean cuisine, including stews, grilled meats and spiced vegetarian dishes, such as lamb tagine, roast chicken with herbs or eggplant parmigiana.
