Folsom's rich winemaking history dates back to the mid-1800s with the planting of the celebrated Natoma Vineyard. In the early 1900s, Natoma Vineyard boasted 2,000 acres and was one of the largest vineyards in the state when gold was discovered on the property — and the vines were replaced with dredgers. Our dream is to reestablish Natoma by crafting local wines and celebrating its place in California wine history.
On the Nose: Garnet in the glass, the wine opens with floral and savory aromas, including rose petals, cinnamon, sage, black olive, nori and ripe raspberry.
On the Palate: Sweet and spicy notes of pomegranate, plum liquor, black cherry, dates and black pepper warm the palate and balance the wine's bolder body. The present tannins and lingering flavor support this wine, which can age for many vintages.
Food Pairings: This wine pairs well with grilled meats like Italian sausage with broccolini, a flatbread topped with caramelized onions and roasted beets with tahini lemon sauce.
