2022 Daedalus Pinot Noir

Daedalus wines celebrate the technical skill and creativity of winemaking, highlighting accomplished winemakers in Oregon and reinforcing the Oregon spirit that launched an industry of world-class wines.

Joe Dobbes is the first winemaker featured under our Daedalus label. Joe served as our winemaker at Willamette Valley Vineyards from 1996 to 2001, then founded Dobbes Family Estate and Wine by Joe. In 2019, he established Iterum Wines, continuing a legacy of innovation and craftsmanship.

Our 2022 Daedalus Pinot Noir was grown at Joe's Orchard House Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills. This limited production wine was crafted from Pinot Noir clones 114 and 115, with subtle barrel influence, giving it a light dusting of oak spice and classic Oregon Pinot Noir character.

On the Nose: Deep ruby in the glass, the wine opens with aromas of ripe fruit and subtle barrel influence, layered with cinnamon, herbal tea and fresh-picked strawberries.

On the Palate: The sip reveals classic Oregon Pinot Noir character, framed by balanced acidity and a light dusting of oak spice and tannins, with flavors of red licorice, cranberry and cedar complemented by dried currant, raspberry and a touch of dark chocolate.

Food Pairings: Pair with savory dishes like beef tenderloin with cranberry relish, saffron chicken tagine, mushroom ravioli or truffle pasta.
