Since the winery's founding in 1983, stewardship of the land has been a key principle in our winemaking and farming practices. Founder Jim Bernau believes Pinot Noir tastes better when made with consideration for the environment, employees and community.
This year we're partnering with a similar-minded company, SIP, or Seriously Imbibed Products, a maker of unique organic cotton textiles owned and designed by artist Julia Minasian. SIP is dedicated to ethical sustainability while maintaining a high quality of product.
Julia's kitchen towel features her original artwork of our Estate in the Salem Hills, showing vineyards descending the hillside. We're pairing it with a pre-release of our inaugural 2018 Bernau Estate Pinot Noir and the high-scoring 2018 Bernau Block Pinot Noir — a perfect gift for the holidays or a housewarming while sharing the beauty of Oregon.
Celebrate loved ones near and far with our festive holiday gift packages, featuring our most-loved wines and one-of-a-kind gift items. Each package includes complimentary UPS Ground Shipping.
Founded in 1983 by Oregon native Jim Bernau with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir, Jim cleared away an old pioneer plum orchard in the Salem Hills and watered the vines by hand using 17 lengths of garden hose to get the grapelings through their first summer. Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the region’s leading wineries, earning the title “One of America’s Great Pinot Noir Producers” from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Learn the unique story of our winery as you enjoy classic Oregon wines and warm Oregon hospitality. Featuring a variety of experiences and locations — from our Estate in the Salem Hills to Tualatin Estate in Forest Grove or our tasting room downtown McMinnville — a visit to Oregon wine country isn't complete without a stop at Willamette Valley Vineyards.
