Stewardship Collection

Since the winery's founding in 1983, stewardship of the land has been a key principle in our winemaking and farming practices. Founder Jim Bernau believes Pinot Noir tastes better when made with consideration for the environment, employees and community. 

This year we're partnering with a similar-minded company, SIP, or Seriously Imbibed Products, a maker of unique organic cotton textiles owned and designed by artist Julia Minasian. SIP is dedicated to ethical sustainability while maintaining a high quality of product.

Julia's kitchen towel features her original artwork of our Estate in the Salem Hills, showing vineyards descending the hillside. We're pairing it with a pre-release of our inaugural 2019 Bernau Estate Pinot Noir and the high-scoring 2019 Bernau Block Pinot Noir — a perfect gift to show your affection while sharing the beauty of Oregon.

Sourced from Bernau Estate Vineyard in the Dundee Hills, where vines are farmed using biodynamic techniques using sustainable, organic practices. The original 15 acres of Pinot Noir were planted in 1994.

Sourced exclusively from 15 acres of Pinot Noir from the first plantings at the Estate Vineyard, Founder Jim Bernau planted these vines using a Christmas tree planter pulled behind his 33 horsepower tractor.
