Voyageur (voya-e-zher): a French word meaning "traveler." Legend says that when these French fur trappers first looked down from the Blue Mountains upon the fair fertile valley, they exclaimed: "Voila, Voila!" (Behold, Behold!) and thus the name became fixed. Walla Walla was born.
This has a deep, penetrating nose of violets, black pepper, tobacco, bacon fat and wild blackberries, all beautifully focused around an abundance of dark fruits, black licorice, kirsch, riverbed minerals and cured black olives.
