2016 Natoma Red Blend

Folsom's rich winemaking history dates back to the mid-1800s with the planting of the celebrated Natoma Vineyard. In the early 1900s, Natoma Vineyard boasted 2,000 acres and was one of the largest vineyards in the state when gold was discovered on the property — and the vines were replaced with dredgers. Our dream is to reestablish Natoma by crafting local wines and celebrating its place in California wine history.    

On the Nose: Aromas of black cherry, ripe plum and fig reduction open on the nose and move elegantly into a palate.

On the Palate: Generous jammy dark fruit flavors woven with baking spices, dark chocolate, dusty earth and sweet oak. The texture is rich and round with well-integrated tannins that lengthen the experience and offer lingering notes of brambles and graphite.

Food Pairings: Enjoy with a bold burger topped with gorgonzola, braised blackberry short ribs, chili, cured meats, hard cheeses and dark chocolate truffles.
