Sourced exclusively from our Tualatin Estate Vineyard. Enjoy ice cold to preserve the bubbles.
The welcoming nose of aromatic Early Muscat grape includes nectarine, peach, citrus, lychee and honey. On the palate, flavors of tropical passionfruit and melon emerge around a sweet core. The effervescence and balancing acidity contributes to a lively mouthfeel and clean finish.
Years ago, Founder Jim Bernau began experimenting with Pinot Noir by gently dropping hand-picked whole clusters in a chilled stainless fermenter, pushing all the oxygen out with CO2 and sealing the vessel tight. What happened next was magical — the berries started to swell and turn pink. When they burst, they released the most aromatic, fermenting Pinot Noir.
The stylistic vision of this wine captures pure Pinot Noir fruit with beautiful depth and structure through whole cluster fermentation and carbonic maceration. The wine is balanced, refreshing and versatile for countless food pairings.
Sourced from our sustainably-farmed Elton and Tualatin Estate Vineyards, the grapes were gently whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel to deliver expressive aromas and flavors with a crisp, dry finish.
Savory herbs, minerality, lemon curd and honey open on the nose while on the palate the wine reveals flavors of orange blossom and honeydew accent by elegant notes of brioche and vanilla. The wine is opulent with a mouth-filling oily texture, round soft finish and balanced with refreshing acidity. Enjoy now until 2026 and beyond.
Founder Jim Bernau's father, Fred Bernau, helped re-establish Oregon's wine industry in the early 1960s when he assisted Richard Sommer of HillCrest Vineyard in getting the first wine-grape winery licenses post-prohibition. Jim was 10 years old at the time, so he and his brother John were allowed small tastes of Richard Sommer's wines at the dinner table.
From those small tastes, Jim's passion for Oregon wine grew. It has always been a dream of his to make a wine dedicated to his father, the help he provided to early Oregon wine pioneers and the passion he ignited in Jim. PèreAmi, translated to "Father Friend," is just that.
The 2020 Estate Pinot Noir expresses the terroir of estate vineyards — the original planting by Founder Jim Bernau at the winery in the Salem Hills, Tualatin Estate planted by Oregon wine pioneer Bill Fuller in the foothills of the Coastal Range and Elton planted by Dick and Betty O'Brien on the east face of the Eola-Amity Hills.
A complex red blend of the finest varietals from the Walla Walla Valley, this bottling celebrates the Métis heritage of Founder Jim Bernau's fourth great grandparents Catherine "Kitty" Umfreville Pambrun who worked with her husband Pierre Chrysologue Pambrun to lead Fort Nez Perce in Walla Walla, ushering in a time of peace to the trading post and Columbia Basin.
Founded in 1983 by Oregon native Jim Bernau with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir,
Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the region’s leading wineries, earning the title “One of America’s Great Pinot Noir Producers” from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
