It's Willamette Dammit — The Dirt on Oregon

Please join us in celebration of Oregon Wine Month this Memorial Day Weekend for "It's Willamette Dammit — The Dirt on Oregon," a three-day event featuring wine tasting, educational seminars and live music.
Tickets include a tasting flight in the Estate Tasting Room and an optional pre-scheduled, seated tasting of our 2015 Pinot Noir AVA series in our cellar, led by a knowledgeable Winery Ambassador. Seated tastings will last approximately 45 minutes, with sessions scheduled every 15 minutes from 11:15 am to 5:30 pm each day.
On Monday, May 28th at 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm, we are thrilled to present "Terroir Tasting with Dr. Scott Burns," informative wine tasting seminars conducted by one of Oregon's leading geologists. Seminars held in the Founders' Room. There is no additional cost to attend, and reservations are not required for the Terroir Tastings.
Cost to attend is $20, $10 for Wine Club Members, Owners and their guests. For those choosing not to participate in a seated cellar tasting, please select a General Admission ticket for your preferred day. There is no difference in price.

The seated tasting will feature an educational component focusing on the Willamette Valley's unique terroir, complemented with tastings of our 2015 Pinot Noir AVA series, and the stories behind our classic Oregon wines. Our seated cellar tastings tend to fill quickly, so we encourage you to RSVP online. Meet near registration for your seated tasting and please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled time.
Dr. Scott Burns
Dr. Scott Burns is a sixth generation Oregonian, a recently retired Professor of Geology and past Chair of the Department of Geology at Portland State University, where he just finished his 22nd year of teaching. Scott has B.S. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University, plus a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He is known for his fascinating and humorous presentations and has led many a terroir tour throughout Oregon. Scott has been teaching for 42 years and specializes in environmental and engineering geology, geomorphology, soils and Quaternary geology. In Oregon, his projects include those involving landslides and land use, helping discover the source of high radon levels in the Portland area, earthquake hazard mapping, paleosols, loess soil stratigraphy and the Missoula Floods. Scott was honored by his peers when the Oregon Academy of Science named him its 2014 Outstanding Scientist. He is a prolific writer and has authored more than 90 publications, including his contributions to the newest edition of the book Cataclysms on the Columbia: The Great Missoula Floods.
