2021 Gruner Veltliner

The Grüner Veltliner is an Austrian style varietal and was grafted on the first vines planted by the O’Briens at the Elton Vineyard. It is one of the smallest blocks of vines among our plantings. This refreshingly crisp white is known for its flexible pairings and medium body with a zesty finish.

On the Nose: Lemon in color, the wine opens with aromatics of apricot, papaya, white pepper and honey. The palate expresses savory notes of golden apple, mascarpone, herbs and vanilla spice.

On the Palate: Offering significant weight and a creamy texture, the wine finishes a silky and refreshing finish.

Food Pairings: It is a chameleon in its ability to harmonize with a broad and diverse range of food. Pair with strong vegetable flavors, such as asparagus, artichokes and green peas, or with spicy Asian dishes like pork lettuce wraps or green curry and seafood dishes like shrimp picatta or grilled halibut.
