A complex red blend of the finest varietals from the Walla Walla Valley, this bottling celebrates the Métis heritage of Founder Jim Bernau's fourth great grandmother Catherine "Kitty" Umfreville Pambrun who worked with her husband Pierre Chrysologue Pambrun to lead Fort Nez Percés in Walla Walla, ushering in a time of peace to the trading post and Columbia Basin.
On the Nose: A complex blend of varietals from the Walla Walla Valley, the wine opens with warm aromas of Himalayan blackberry, fig, nutmeg and cinnamon.
On the Palate: Deep fruit flavors of ripe pomegranate, blackcurrant and cigar box notes are complemented by fresh acidity for a lingering finish.
Food pairings: Enjoy with rich red meat dishes like pan-seared steak with mushrooms and venison with berry sauce, wood-fired pizza and dark chocolate desserts.
Blend: 42% Syrah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec

"Métis is a Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot-driven blend that wins you over immediately with a blackcap raspberry jam aroma that will demand to slather the nearest piece of white bread. Additional aromas of grape hyacinth and nutmeg aren't too shabby, either. Métis feels light and graceful on the palate, with lemony acidity and fine-grained tannins backing its black cherry, white sage tea and saline flavors. If you ever eat elk burgers, pour this wine. - Michael Alberty"
