Our Pambrun wines are inspired by the rich history of the Walla Walla Valley when Pierre and Kitty Pambrun operated the Nez Perce Trading Post for the Hudson's Bay Company in 1832 and Pierre became Walla Walla’s First Citizen, ushering in a time of peace and commerce in the Columbia Basin. Today, their fourth great-grandson Jim Bernau, inspired by his family’s heritage, has set out to grow and make elegant, terroir-driven wines from our estate and neighboring SeVein vineyards.
On the Nose: Our Bordeaux-style blend offers a complex nose of fruit including currant and blackberry accented by notes of lavender, thyme and rhubarb.
On the Palate: The palate glides with elegance and concentration and features flavors of plum, boysenberry, dried herbs, graphite and woodspice. Powerful layered tannins and balanced acidity create a impactful finish and indicate age-worthiness.
Food Pairing: Pair with red-wine braised short ribs, rustic ragu of pork and lamb over housemade pastaroast duck with boysenberry and rosemary compote and ratatouille.
